Nonprofit continuing care retirement community Oakwood Village is welcoming three industry veterans to its senior leadership team.
Kate Bertram has been named chief operating officer, and Virginia “Ginny” Arndt recently stepped into the role of chief human resources officer. In addition, Keith VanLanduyt is serving as the new chief marketing, sales and communication officer as of March 30.
Bertram, who has held executive leadership roles at multi-site senior living organizations, including Pathway to Living and Christian Horizons, has demonstrated a dedication to improving processes and strengthening performance, while emphasizing financial accountability. She is known for her transparent, collaborative leadership style and for building strong relationships both within organizations and in the broader community.
Bertram earned an MBA from Mount Mary University and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also a licensed nursing home administrator.
Arndt has honed her steady, thoughtful approach and emphasis on people over 25 years in human resources leadership. She holds a master’s degree in management and human resource management, and has a strong background in mission-driven nonprofit healthcare.
She has held executive roles at organizations like CommonSpirit Health, Intermountain Healthcare, and SCL Health. Arndt has a track record of strengthening engagement, supporting leaders, improving processes, and helping navigate change.
VanLanduyt is returning to Oakwood Village after several years at Illuminus, a nonprofit senior living provider with multiple communities in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He had previously spent more than 20 years at Oakwood, most recently as vice president of marketing and executive director of the Oakwood Foundation. He takes over communications leadership from Patty Keller, who recently announced her retirement.
“These capable leaders bring fresh energy to the team and will play an important role in carrying out our mission,” said Jan Hamilton-Crawford, Oakwood Village president and CEO. “We are excited they are sharing their talents to strengthen our entire community.”
