Change makers don't wait for the future to happen. They help shape it.
That's why we're excited to welcome Katie Smith Sloan, president and CEO of LeadingAge, to the Change Makers: 2026 Annual Conference and 46th Annual Exhibitors Forum this September in Green Bay.

Katie will contribute to one of our in-depth pre-conference seminars, Advocacy: Making Your Voice Heard and Your Influence Count, offering attendees a unique opportunity to hear from a national leader who is working to advance the interests of aging services providers across the country.
Advocacy is one of the most powerful tools aging services professionals have to influence policy, shape regulations, and improve outcomes for the people and communities they serve. During this session, participants will explore practical strategies for engaging with policymakers and becoming more effective voices for the profession.
The discussion will cover the legislative and regulatory process at both the state and federal levels, the impact of policy decisions on long-term care operations, and meaningful ways to build relationships with elected officials and other decision-makers. Attendees will also explore strategies for crafting impactful messages, sharing compelling stories and data, and participating in advocacy efforts.
The session offers an especially valuable opportunity to engage with leaders from both the state and national levels of LeadingAge and to gain practical tools that can help strengthen advocacy efforts around issues such as quality care, workforce development, reimbursement, and the future of long-term care.
And the conversation doesn't have to end when the session is over. Katie will also join attendees at the Welcome Reception, providing another opportunity to meet her and connect with colleagues from across Wisconsin.
