The Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) Bridge Program at Madison College is seeking up to four additional students for its fall cohort, which kicks off Monday, August 31, 2026. The eight-week program, taught by LeadingAge Wisconsin member Mike Jones of LindenGrove- New Berlin, is designed for mid-career professionals who want to obtain their nursing home administrator license without completing an additional four-year degree program.
Other licensure requirements include a bachelor's degree and 2,000 hours of practicum work in a skilled nursing facility.
The program has been approved by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as meeting the requirements as a specialized course in order to be eligible to sit for the Nursing Home Administrator exam.

The course is divided into two classes, each lasting four weeks. Each week begins Monday at 8 am. All weekly assignments are due by 11:59 pm on Sunday. Weekly requirements include reading two chapters of the course book, watching the lecture, completing the quiz/assignment, and filling out the 'reflection." Together, the 2 courses are about 40-48 hours of work.
