As election season approaches, LeadingAge Wisconsin member Sheboygan Senior Center (SSC) is earning national recognition for its commitment to helping residents exercise one of their most important civic rights — the right to vote.

SSC was recently featured in an article by LeadingAge (national), highlighting how aging services organizations across the country are supporting resident engagement and voter participation. The story emphasized the importance of ensuring older adults have the information, access, and support they need to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

The national feature, titled "Midterms Approaching, Residents and Members Are Ready: 'Voting is a privilege I’ve always treasured',” showcased the meaningful work taking place within aging services communities to encourage civic participation among residents, enabling them to remain connected to their communities and to communicate the issues that matter most to them. SSC’s efforts help ensure those voices continue to be heard.

We congratulate SSC on this national recognition and thank its team for reinforcing the importance of resident empowerment and civic engagement.
