On October 1st, Skaalen Retirement Services celebrated its 125th anniversary. Staff, residents, and visitors all came together to honor 125 years of serving the Stoughton community. Attendees joined in the fun by wearing anniversary-themed merchandise, enjoying a picnic lunch, and taking part in prize raffles.
"One of the highlights of the day was our “Pie in the Face” fundraiser, where members of the administrative team volunteered to get pied to raise money for resident programs, said Administrator Maggie Schellhorn. "It was a joyful afternoon filled with laughter, community spirit, and perfect weather!"
Skaalen has a rich Norwegian heritage and deep roots in the Stoughton community. Founded by two Norwegian immigrants in the early 1900s, the organization has continued to grow and expand its services over the decades.
"We are incredibly proud of our history and honored to continue providing quality care and meaningful experiences to those we serve," said Ms. Schellhorn.
